Sophie and Walker Cole, known professionally as THE COLES, are an award-winning directing duo whose work blends a strong visual point of view with humanity, nuance, and a sense of play. Inspired by surrealism and conceptual filmmaking, their films often explore unique characters in left-of-center situations, gently pushing the boundaries of reality while evoking genuine human emotion.
Born in Manhattan and raised in Connecticut in a family immersed in advertising and filmmaking, Sophie and Walker pursued complementary creative paths before collaborating. Sophie worked in fashion and costume design, while Walker was an art dealer. Their first joint film project marked the beginning of their partnership as THE COLES.
Since then, they have directed campaigns for brands including Apple, Evian, Hanes, Bellagio, NY Lotto, and Special K, earning recognition for their distinctive visual storytelling and inventive approach.
