Peter Harton is a subversive storyteller and one of Denmark’s most celebrated comedy directors. Known for his funny, stylish, and eclectic work, Harton seamlessly blends pitch-perfect comic performance, cinematic scale, and exquisite art direction—always infused with a distinctively mischievous and darkly original Danish wit.

He began his career in the camera department on Danish films, including Lars von Trier’s Palme d’Or-winning Dancer in the 'Dark', before moving into directing. Harton has helmed global campaigns for brands such as IKEA, LEGO, Spotify, and Toyota, earning recognition from Cannes Lions, D&AD, Epica, LIA, and the Creative Circle Awards.

In 2010, he took a break from commercials to direct the cult sketch show Rytteriet 'The Cavalry' for Danish TV. The series quickly became the network’s most widely watched comedy show and, in 2014, won the prestigious Danish Film Academy Award—the country’s equivalent of a BAFTA. Harton’s recent work includes a Silver Clio Award for Tour de France: Swuuush! and the True Award for Best Music Video for Peter Sommer’s 'Broerne I Paris'.
