Jakob Grunerts viral Edeka spot 'Supergeil', for which he also co-wrote the song, introduced him—almost accidentally—to the world of advertising. Music was always his first love. He studied visual arts in Hamburg before completing a film degree at the Pratt Institute in New York. A former secret member of a mysterious band, he has also worked as a film composer on multiple Tatort episodes and on 'Nebenan' by Daniel Brühl. His two solo albums remain insider tips.
In 2011, he co-wrote and directed the wonderfully strange musical 'Icke' – die Oper at Berlin’s Volksbühne. He has since directed numerous music videos for artists including Marteria, Seeed, and Solomun ft. Jamie Foxx, among others. His work is defined by a strong sense of visual comedy, brought to life across both narrative and commercial formats. He has created campaigns for brands such as VW, O2, and Fisherman’s Friend.
Jakob is a true creative vending machine—endless ideas, always with his foot tapping to the rhythm.
